HD800s are nice monitor cans,not good for music listening.sound is too bland, lacking some micro details.
for listening music,I would even pick up a "low end" HD480 Classic rather than the hd800.
 
HD700s sound terrible,it's like a black & white television,the timbre has no color,no life in it.
and the mids are compressed.sound strange.
I felt unpleasant,uncomfortable,it really gave me a bad mood, after 2 minutes listening.
