^That is incorrect. The E17 can be used as a DAC with optical toslink, coaxil, or USB. Only AUX in cant be used with the dac.

Op, I think it using a headphone amp sounds better. I like the fuller sound. I've been using the Cmoy for about 18 months with on-ear cans and I've used in ear phones too.

i see, i wouldnt know that unless you tell me about it because i only use it for ipod (aux) and comp (usb)

That is fine. I just needed to clear it up as it may lead to others getting it wrong and become confused on what the E17 can actually do.
