So far clearly the HEDDphone, although i would very much prefer to be able to keep the D9200, whose perfectly balanced calm is an excellent complement to the HEDDphones boundless energy and liveliness, too.

Denon AH-D9200 takes the top spot, followed by HD600 (price/perfomance ratio) and DT-1990 (was most impressive at first, but AHD-9200 is clearly better).
Would love to try/get Heddphone, Clear and Stax L700 but pretty satisfied with what I have having depleted my audio budget.
I eq all of these, AH-D9200 actually doesn't require any if the song is well mixed/not overly bright (-2db,-1db at most).

I do think drums sound best with HD600

Listen to it on the HD600.

Now listen to it on a Nighthawk.

I love my HD600 and it has the edge for many things.
But with deep drums a HD600 has to show its limits, even after EQ. It's normal, just look at its FR.

They were one of my first few headphones, however not first. They play every genre I listen to well, whereas I notice issues with certain genres from most cans.
