what will you buy in 2004?

Sennheiser HD650s or Stax Classic II System.

Then again, an Italian road bike (a Bianchi with a Campagnolo 'gruppo' for example) would be nice...

Campagnolo.. I had the athena group waaay back in the 80's that I mounted myself on a seperate (cheap) peugeot frame.. bike was stolen later

, I have now a jan janssen bike with shimano ultegra (not as nice styling but great mechanical quality.....)

I still hate it that it was stolen because the athena group looked soooo marvellous, smooth and very very polished like art.... shifting was rather spartan, braking was not that good, but the styling...drool.

Sorry to post this crap but I cannnot resist this when people also are interested in biking

this is about the non-motorised, leg-work type bikes ofcourse, not motorcycles.... but since you mentioned campagnolo...

I've got a Stax SRM-007t amp...and don't own any Stax headphones. I think I've got to fix that sometime soon

Thanks Spaceman, I cant wait to hear the final, production either, and yes, Ray did a beautiful job with it, as expected. I believe that they will begin shipping end of January, early February, last I knew.

Top priorities...we'll see how many I achieve this year with the baby coming:

1) Melos PSU upgrade
2) Shanling level +1+ mods
3) Audio Rack
4) Omega II/Hybrid (after listening to one first)

The first is going to happen as is the 3rd...since barely any money will actually be spent. The 2nd is a tough one to call and the 4th is likely a 2005-2006 deal if ever...

In terms of music and audio equipment, there are a few top contenders among the crowd of items screaming at the top of their lungs for my wallet:

TOPs:

1. Buy a new / used Denon DVD 5900 & sell my existing Denon DVD 2900.

2. Buy more DVD-Audio discs especially "flipper" discs

3. Buy fewer Hybrid SACDs

4. Continue downloading lossless compressed music & burn to CD-Rs

Undetermined list:

1. Consider Grado RA-1 headphone amplifier

2. Get a different op-amp for my Emmeline HR-2

3. Get DeOxIt or something like that.

I'm rather hoping that i'll be able turn it around in 2004 and have some good fortune for once.

My wishlist at the moment is:

- Thorens TD150 MK.II or maybe a TD160 with a nice Shure Cart.
- another amp for home. I'm thinking MF X-Cans V3 / Slee Solo / Chiarra depending on finances.
- Canal phones possibly Ety ER4S or Shures E2s?
- HDD based MP3 player (iPod / iRiver jobbie around 20gb)
- Not too worried about phones for home but if I have money to squander then a pair SR325s / R2s would be nice.

Also i'm rather hoping that this will be the year that I finally lay hands on a pair of BBC LS3/5a speakers

Although right at this moment a new job would be really slick!

EDIT: Nearly forgot.... I would really like a Behring Ultracurve EQ unit. Not the 8024, the other one. With the orange-y display.

May want to also consider the E3c. A few reviews have already been posted.
