Mine arrived yesterday - not had chance to fire it up yet, but was very impressed to find out it comes with a high class flight adapter and some proper earplugs - these guys have thought of everything!

Looking forward to testing it out on a long haul flight in a few weeks.

@iFi audio

If I might ask and if it doesn't reveal too much of your secret sauce: How exactly does the adapter work? As it seems, it doesn't alter the output impedance too much, so it is not a purely resistor-based signal attenuation. Also, why is its output impedance actually lower with ultra sensitivity engaged than with high sensitivity (the same goes for the micro iDSD that seems to have a more or less similarly implemented iEMatch where the output impedance is lower with the highest attenuation compared to the medium attenuation)?

I'm really curious about that.

While I don't really know how it works, here an article explaining how you can make one yourself: https://diyaudioheaven.wordpress.com/headphones/headphone-attenuation-adapter/

Btw do you guys have any plans on releasing a version of the iEmatch without any wire?

No is the quick answer.

As it also has the Balanced/SE switch on the 3.5mm jack. This is our new connector!

3.5mm balanced as in HFM balanced wiring?  Any plans for 2.5mm TRRS balanced?  With so many DAPs featuring 2.5mm HO now and considering increased power of balanced over SE outputs, I'm sure there going to be plenty of demand for it.

Wow, I won :beerchug: Big thank you to ifi audio for running the competition and I can't wait to try it with the iCan Nano as the channel inbalance at low volumes can be a tad annoying.

As the balanced 3.5mm is your new standard, can I expect to replace my iCan with a shiny new balanced version anytime soon :atsmile:

I have just received it and tested it with my RE-600 and it does what it says! Lowers hiss and increases dynamics. But somehow I feel it needs some burn in to perform at its best. It includes a pair of ear plugs, an airplane adapter and a nice travel pouch made of fabric. And overall the build quality is top notch!

Let's see how it evolves :p
