Saturday it was like 95F in NYC. Everyday I walk 6 blocks from the train station to work and I end up looking like I got thrown in the river. All the deoderant in the world wont stop you from sweating in 95F and 75% humidity. Not to mention the freakin subway platform.

I live on the top floor of my apartment building. My room is kept at 74F and I sleep with a blanket. The rest of my apartment is blazing hot at somewhere around 85F. When I wake up at night to go to the bathroom, I open the door an I get hit with a blast of hot air. I cant turn on the living room AC because half of my apartment runs on 1 fuse. I cant even turn on the 10,000BTU living room AC quickly because it blows the fuse. Ive gone through 3 fuses in 2 weeks and from here on out its not going to go back to the 70s for the rest of the summer.

AC is set for 80 degrees during most of the day. I turn it off and open the windows in the cool of the morning. Obviously, I have a high tolerance for heat. Now cold, that's a different story.

I just sit here paddling in a pool of my own making. I have a window A/C but moved recently and I'll be darned if I know where the fixing doohickey has gone... Makes me laugh when I talk to people back home (England) and they say "it.s been really warm and sticky..." I just smile and think "HA !! Try NYC in the summer with no AC........"

It's not too bad now the temperature has dropped to 25 degrees. i think it being 3.30 Am helps.

It is only hot in the UK for about three months. Come winter time I am happier than a pervert in a brothel.

Set it at a bit under 26°C, which to me is perfect shorts & t-shirt temperature. This is verified with several thermometers to make sure the thermostat isn't lying. At night we open up the windows if the temperature outside is below 25°C or so.

73 degrees Farenheit. Any more is too hot. Lower is ok, down to about 70, but past that is a little too cold.

About 75 year round, although it depends on how hot it is outside. After the hurricane last year, the electric company has gone crazy with their rates (as endorsed by the government to allow them to recover some of thier losses). Now it's nothing to get a bill for $500 per month or more. Oh well, better than sweating.

I have my A/C set at about 78, though it ends up keeping my place around 75. I don't get afternoon sun, so that helps keep it cool, but my apartment is on the first floor so I can't sleep with my windows open if it cools off at night either.

When I was living at home, my parents kept the A/C at 78. My room was upstairs and as far as possible from where the A/C comes into the house. Combine that with my computer and it was often in the mid or high 80s in my room. My mom would always come in and say "It's hot in here!". But that never made her turn the thermostat down.
