The AC at my house is kept at 77 degrees fahrenheit during the summer months. My room that I live and breath at is closed off from the rest of the house and has a computer on in it ~24 hours a day. This of course makes the ambient temperature in my room much more like 83 or 84 or 85, so its been bothering me becaues I like temperatures around 70-75, not cool being in the 80s! Guess I need to get my own window airconditioner huh?

So what temperatures do all of you have your residences kept at, or do you go aunaturel?

Tonight I was listening to my ipod with some closed phones but I had to stop midway and switch to the Grado's. Why?

Because it hit 35 degrees centigrade. It was 8p.m

I really need to check out those little A/C units ASAP.

I don't know what the temp is set at, but we keep the dial turned to 9, so i imagine about 65 F. At work i once had the temperature down to 55 F...lol, unfortunately it was raised back to a balmy 70 F.

I dunno, for a house, i would have it set to 70 F.

So far looks like my suspicions are correct, my Dad is being cheap to save money, that and he works in the basement where it is at least 7 degrees cooler.

Yup, and luckily the rest of my family shares my passion. It's been very nice coming from a 10 miler outside in the 90ºF heat into my house. It's like stepping into a freezer

. I do turn the AC off during the night, and also my PC because it gets too hot when its on with the a/c off.

I hate the feeling that I am paying to heat my room and paying to cool my room, paying out of both ends so that the system gets nothing productive acomplished! Sheesh, now that frustraites me!

I can handle the heat, even though I don't want to. I live in NE, and there's been a friggin' heatwave or something, it's been around 95 or so recently. I have an AC, but it's very old, the filter and insides need serious cleaning/replacement. No fan either, relying strictly on the breeze and cold water. I say with the nearly a decade old PC, TV, Cd player, and vcr running in a small attic room, it's one hell of an oven.

So to answer your question, I don't use any AC at all.

That said, you ever try skateboarding/walking around in >95 degree weather? It's a bitch, but you get one hell of a tan from the sun (as if I wasn't dark enough).

78 degrees in the summer, 68 in the winter.

Isn't it funny how 10 degrees difference still feels like the same temperature depending on the season?

Unfortunately my AC has trouble keeping up in this heat (it's been over 90 all week). I have a large 3 bay window that faces west. I have window tint on both panes of the windows and keep the curtains closed all the time to block out the afternoon sun.

I need a nice shade tree to put in my yard to help block the sun.
