Thanks. The stands my towers are on are from Sound Anchors. They weigh about 20 lbs each and provide a lot of mass to couple the speakers to. While many people say the stands help with bass definition, I primarily got them to raise the tweeter/midrange so they are at the same height as the tweeter/midrange of my center channel. I also got them to help in stability of the speakers as the B&W speakers on the stock spikes was too unstable. I've had some mishaps where guests walking by them had accidentally tipped the speakers. The Sound Anchor stands really provide a lot of stability and they come with "blue dots" which sort of glues the speakers to the stands along with a threaded stud which locates the speaker to the appropriate spot on the stand.

I'm moving on to Gallo Strada's & a Martin Logan Depth-i sub. I'd read so much of their increased detail, resolution, transparency and soundstaging.... so I thought I should give them a home demo. Well I wasn't thrilled with the TR3 sub, so I also took home the Depth-i from a different shop, and now that's the keeper combo right there. I hear every bit of the glowing praise the Strada's have been receiving. When I put the Ref 3.1's back in place, they sounded more muddy with the stage being quite a bit further back and recessed. And to think for two years I've been happy with their resolving and detailed sound. How Anthony Gallo got so much more out of the Strada's is beyond me, but the layering and 3D feeling is quite a big step up. And they do this while being more relaxed at the same time and not as shouty. Sometimes with the 3.1's I felt there was a bit of treble harshness, and also every once in a while some very twangy upper midrange bite... but that's all gone with the Strada's.

I'll add some pics in at some point.

Patos Lyric 101, treble by Morell and the mid-tone/ bass by SEAS, nearest comparison Sonus Faber Concertino, but went with the Patos as it was cheaper and lucky me.. turned out to be upgradable to 102.
