Mackie HR624 powered monitors! I haven't heard many speaker rigs. I'm sure a lot of ya'lls would blow these away.

but comparing them to headphones, there are only a couple headphones in the world that compare to their beautiful tone. Not cold, not warm, other times cold and warm at the same time. I need to get a better dac/preamp for them though

If ever a trusted Head-Fi'er moves to Grand Cayman, I'd be willing to set him/her up with a pretty decent 2 channel or HT system at US-based (i.e, duty free) prices!

Wayne:....I am on my way!!

just one question,,Are there any horses down there?

Because I still need a job. I am not ready to retire just yet. Northern Va. is not cheep But I bet the cost of living is prohibitively expensive in Grand Cayman too. That was a poorly framed question sorry.

Here's what I have now:

Polk Audio RTA-11t for my main home stereo

This is a very underrated speaker with excellent soundstage and clear, tight bass.

As for my computer speakers, I have this model:

Klipsch Groove PM20

The sad part is Klipsch no longer makes this model, because they sound fabulous considering the small physical size of these speakers.

cn11!!!! Me so jealous, I've been eyeing those Reference 3.1's for a while, just have to wait a little longer to be able to afford em, besides I need to move to a bigger place first. But damn those look nice.

Very nice speakers and setups in this thread. On my part I run a modest system with a pair of lovely Margules Audio "Magenta" SA-1 bookshelf speakers driven by a late 50's Bell 3030 integrated all-tube amplifier.

Thanks!
If you find a pair, make sure to get the sub amp. It really helps the low end. I got mine on floor demo special pricing from a small local dealer, for about 60% of retail! They were handled very carefully, yet just broken in... no waiting for the drivers to settle in. I've been loving them.

You should read up on the new Gallo Reference 3.5's. He's supposedly made significant improvements over the 3.1, of course the price has doubled.

Personally, I like the look of small speakers that sound large, so at some point I may think about his new Strada satellites (the upper portion of the 3.5's), matched up with two of the new TR3 subwoofers (which are the same woofers as in the 3.5's).

I really like the Gallo sound....
