What Live concerts have you attended?
Oct 12, 2009 at 4:40 PM Post #392 of 739
Ok so Friday night I was lucky enough to see Them Crooked Vultures at The Sound Academy in Toronto...wow...one of the best shows I have ever seen and I can not wait for this album to come out.

If you have never heard of them, it's the new project of Dave Grohl (drums), Josh Homme (Guitar/Vocals) and John Paul Jones (Bass). Alain Johannes also plays guitar on tour.

If I could see half of the bands you mentioned above, I would have accomplished pretty much all I've wanted in life and die happily. Hell, even 9-10 of them would be enough. I hope you are aware how lucky are you.

Yeah, A lot of years, a lot of money, and a lot of water under the bridge. I do feel pretty lucky. Who have you seen?

Off the top of my head:
Dream Theater 4 or 5 times (1st time in '95 with Fates Warning opening. I am a big Fates Warning fan now, but then I had only heard a few songs.)
Fates Warning (opening for DT in '95)
Spock's Beard 2 times (one time opening for DT around '99)
Pain of Salvation 1 time (opening for DT)
Symphony X 1 time (opening for DT)
Yes 2 times
Rush 1 time
Metallica 1 time (back in '92, when they were still pretty okay)
Anthrax 2 times
Vicious Rumors 3 times (2 times in Stockholm and once in Hamburg, Germany. Steve Smythe was playing guitar in the band for 2 of the concerts and my friend and I talked to him. Nice guy)
Blind Guardian 1 time (VR was opening for them)
Dio 1 time (on the Angry Machines tour. I'm not a big fan, but I'm still happy to have seen him in the flesh)
Testament 1 time (Steve Smythe had left Vicious Rumors for Testament)
Nevermore 1 time (while Steve Smythe played with them. I've seen the guy play live 4 times with 3 different bands!)
Galactic Cowboys 1 time (opening for Vicious Rumors)
Accept 1 time (VR opened for them)
Alice in Chains 1 time (on the Dirt tour)

I would love to see:
Genesis live during the Peter Gabriel years, preferably 1972-1974
Gentle Giant in the mid seventies
Yes in the same time period
Watchtower in the late eighties
Power of Omens before they quit in 2006
Queensryche in the mid eighties
Psychotic Waltz in the early nineties

How I wish that I had a time machine!
