I grew up near philly.

whiz is 'official' but not preferred.

now that I'm out in calif, I found a philly-boy who used to be a fireman and now has his own cheese steak shop in the bay area (amatos is the name). great place and good people. they know philly steaks there.

Last time I was in Philly I got a really good vegetarian Philly Cheesesteak, though I would have preferred real cheese to the soy "cheese".

I put any kind of cheese on anything and everything. Except American and Velveeta, both of which I don't actually consider to be cheese.
