Still in search of the for the ultimate in bass. I have the Sony XB500 and right now they are pretty awesome, but...their is always room for improvement.

I was thinking about trying out the Shure Dj750 again or the M50. What do you all think?

I took a time out from audio for a few years, and am putting together a pretty decent hp system as a starter. My subsequent (headphone) upgrade path will be determined by that new system, which should be completed hopefully some time in Jan. Of course its totally possible that  full satisfaction will be realized and no upgrades will be needed.

Headphones: HD600, ATH-W1000

Possible replacements: LCD-2, HD650, HD800,  O2 mk2, ATH-W5000

Of course new headphones may require a new amp. In terms of dynamics the ZD is looking very sweet, but ever since auditioning Vertigo-1's Stax system, I think its pretty inevitable that I will be going there eventually.

Amplifiers: Zana Deux, WA5/WA5SE (still looking into electrostatic amps)

Just got the K701s, doubt I'm going to get anything around that range anymore, unless its a senn hd600/650. My next purchase will probably be a HE5/6 or a LCD2, or a T1 if I feel like it.

Or maybe even one of the high end ATHs. Colored, but everyone needs some color in their life :D

Thats a long way off though, I'm getting a good amp first

Probably the LCD-2, it all depends if I can sell my Phonitor, and if they are indeed sounding like the O2's. If not, then I could probably better saving my money.

my next purchase will probably be trying to get a vintage pair of the akg monitor 600ohm version. been hearing lot about it and i just love my current akg 240 studio so i want to see how the monitors compare. if i really love them like my studio's then i be set for a long time. i might also buy a pair of orthodynamics as well out of curiousity.

speaker and amp wise i'm pretty damn happy with what i have. only amp i really want to buy next is a Vintage blackface Sansui G-771. i want one really bad. speakers i want to try is a nice pair of vintage Cerwin speakers or Polk Monitor 10's with the perless tweeters.

I'm definitely getting the 940s when they come out. Those look nice. I wanted to try some akg phones but I'm not sure though. At the moment i'm really happy with the d2000s and the d1100 so I'm pretty good on portable and at home phones. I was considering some iem but I usually treat iem pretty bad so I'm a little skeptic to pay over 40 bucks for any.

I'm looking at the HE-6.  I tried the LCD-2 this fall, and I was very impressed by what orthos had to offer, but the tonal balance of the LCD-2 (i.e. dark) just wasn't for me.  It sounds like the HE-6 might be what I'm looking for in an ortho, with some more air and treble than the LCD-2.  Also, with the Schiit Lyr coming out in March, it seems that properly powering the HE-6 won't be much of a challenge anymore.

If I do( hopefully not for a while :p) it would be the HD650 to contrast the aggressive sound of my 325is

I've been thinking the same thing as you. But I just got my HF-2's, to team up with my RS-1's, on Thursday, and my Mapletree EAR HD+ today, so I'm sure it will be some time before any more purchases. Maybe a Sylvania 5751 tube before anymore cans...
