I don't drink beer in all those situations but heres the few I do:

b. Hot Day: Corona with Lime or Boag's St George

c. Unwind: Colonial Brewery, Back Breaker Summer Ale

d. Pizza: I'm not fussy, just one of my usual beers. Something like Stella Artois or Toohey's Pils. Maybe a crownie.

f. Flavour: Somethign like Kostritzer, Furstenburg or Oranjeboon.

You forgot the option of:

Beer you use for watering the garden or making beer batter: My own home brew

Nicer than some of the really cheap beers, half the cost as well. But can't stand up to the more expensive beers I buy. Maybe I'll get better over time.

im have a soft spot for wheat beers, or a nice blond. Hoegarden is a favorite.
on a hot day nothing can beat a cold chech pilsner. (there are a few lovely 'abbot' stlye ales from holland and belgium that my father gets taht really like too)

not a fan of lager that much, and if i do drink it, it needs to be ice cold.

Just had a beer tonight that I think is just good at quenching. ie for a hot day.

The flavour seems quite subdued and subtle so the beer is very easy to drink, very little bitterness at all. I'd imagine quite a few might scoff at that, but as I said, ice cold I think it would do the trick well when you aren't after a full bodied beer. Just something easy to drink when the cheap, brewed in a dirty bath tub, beers just won't cut it.

Boag's Premium

I think Guiness in bottle is excellent in the US, not too far off from draft in Ireland.

My current favorite beer is probably Newcastle brown ale followed by Erdinger

Perhaps a testamant to how good Guiness is? Even bottled and moved away from its home, it is still delicious.

In the states, the Guinness that is sold in cans at the market is pretty good. There's some kind of plastic thing in the can (I think Murphy's Irish Stout has something similar) and maybe it is that mystery item that helps make it good. Bottled Guinness doesn't taste as good as the canned IMHO.

(a) Having a spicy meal
Usually whatever it is that the Indian restaurant serves. Cobra beer I think.

(b) When you are outside and it is over 85 degrees Farenheit
Something pretty weak but fairly tasty. There's a Madeiran beer (Coral or something, I forget) which is just the thing for when you're out somewhere hot, and want to wind down without the alcohol knocking you down.

(c) You have just left work and you go to your favorite bar and want to unwind
I quite like Leffe. It's widely available and tastes of more than cat piss.

(d) You are eating pizza
Whatever's to hand really... it's not going to make a lot of difference.

(e) You are out on a date
No beer unless she orders one (to date: never). I prefer wine for 'involved drinking' in any case.

(f) You just want to savor the flavor
I'll work down the menu at Belgo. You might say it's not authentically Belgian, but I'm not all that keen on going to Belgium even for business.

Re: the Guiness thing, you'd be amazed at the R&D (& the costs) that went into developing that widget + canning method which 'gasses' and 'stirs' the beer for the draught taste. I was stunned at the effort that went into it.
