What is your favorite beer to drink when:

(a) Having a spicy meal
(b) When you are outside and it is over 85 degrees Farenheit
(c) You have just left work and you go to your favorite bar and want to unwind
(d) You are eating pizza
(e) You are out on a date
(f) You just want to savor the flavor

For me:

(a) Saxer Lemon Lager
(b) Michelob Ultra
(c) Sam Adams
(d) Any Pale Ale (love the hoppiness)
(e) Guiness or the stoutest stout (wife always say, "Ew!")
(f) Mackeson Triple Stout or Sierra Nevada

Edited because I meant to type Sierra Nevada, not Anchor Steam. I get them mixed up.

a. Hornsby Red (Cider not beer, but great with spicy stuff)
b. When it's hot, I'm sipping Mojitos.
c. Silver Peak Brewery. Porter or 'Red Roadster'.
d. Pizza and Fat Tire... Mmm.
e. My dates get good wine.
f. Silver Peak Brewery. Scotch Ale.

Anyone coming though the Reno area should stop by Silver Peak.

a) Spicy - Kingfisher (I'm usually in an Indian restuarant)
b) Hot outside - Pilsner Urquell
c) Unwinding in the bar - Sierra Nevada on tap
d) Pizza - Peroni
e) Date - Lindeman's Lambic Framboise - Sweet but complex. Women who don't like beer love this stuff. It's like wine coolers for adults.
f) Savor the Flavor - Corsendonk Dubbel

For everything else there's Brew-Fi!

(a) Spicy meal: There's this Orange Blossom Ale only my Bodega seems to have. It's slightly sweet, and goes great with a spicy meal.

(b) Over 85 degrees: Corona with a Lime.

(c) Favorite bar : Grolsh (sp?)

(d) Pizza: Guiness Stout

(e) Date: Whatever local they have on tap, to seem classy... unfortunately I've been with my girlfriend a few years and she knows I'm not classy.

(f) Flavor:
Guiness. It's like a meal, in a bottle.

a) Spicy Meal: Rolling Rock
b) >85 degrees: Corona Ultra
c) Unwind: Blue Moon
d) Pizza: Miller High Life
e) Date: Coors Banquet
f) Flavor: Anchor Steam

As a rule, though, I drink more Miller Lite than anything else. When one is on a budget, with a music habit to feed, it is difficult to get much else.

Used to be, not any more as I haven't had a beer (or any alcohol) for almost 1 year but here's what I used to like:

(a) Having a spicy meal
Generic "house" Lager

(b) When you are outside and it is over 85 degrees Farenheit
Carslberg Special Brew, ice cold and plenty of it

(c) You have just left work and you go to your favorite bar and want to unwind
A few gallons of "Bitter"

(d) You are eating pizza
Red Stripe lager

(e) You are out on a date
Anything that's on offer

(f) You just want to savor the flavor
A good real ale such as Morland "old speckled hen"

So, from this it can be seen that if I'd just left work, eaten a curry and a pizza, went outside and it was 85c and then went out on a date I'd be as pished as a newt! Don't want to relive those days, noooo way!

(e) depends on the food/restaurant
(f) guinness

(a) Having a spicy meal
Any type of lager. I'm brewing my own with questionable results.

(b) When you are outside and it is over 85 degrees Farenheit
Pilsner. Any kind of pilsner.

(c) You have just left work and you go to your favorite bar and want to unwind
Usually prefer wine, but Labatt Blue is good.

(d) You are eating pizza
Same as B.

(e) You are out on a date
Don't drink on dates.

(f) You just want to savor the flavor
I have a friend in the Philippines that mails me a case of San Miguel Gold Eagle beer every month. Well worth the ludicrous amount of wait time and shipping costs. Can't stand Guinness. Sorry.

As a beer nut, member of CAMRA and generally perpetually drunken student, this thread is begging for my contribution.

(a) Having a spicy meal
Tiger Lager, from the bottle.

(b) When you are outside and it is over 85 degrees Farenheit
Cisk lager, which sadly, isnt availible outside of Malta, so failing that, Becks.

(c) You have just left work and you go to your favorite bar and want to unwind
Fullers London Pride, The most delicious beer in the universe. On handle at my local, accompanied by a packet of scampi fries itll send you to heaven.

(d) You are eating pizza
Ostravar lager

(e) You are out on a date
Ladies choice of wine naturally

(f) You just want to savor the flavor
Whatever my latest batch of home brewed goodness happens to be!

(a) Having a spicy meal
Heinekin (I'd say water, but this is close enough!)
Tiger Lager (perfect with spicy Thai food)

(b) When you are outside and it is over 85 degrees Farenheit
Ice-cold Suntory Malts

(c) You have just left work and you go to your favorite bar and want to unwind
Ice-cold Kirin Lager if with the 'mates, Hoegaarden White if having some quiet time.

(d) You are eating pizza
Fat Tire FTW!

(e) You are out on a date
Stella Artois or Peroni. You gotta look classy, even if the beer ain't...

(f) You just want to savor the flavor
Too many - I'm still exploring, but I do like Hoegaarden White.

Best,

Another beer nut here.

(a) Having a spicy meal - Haffenreffer's Private Stock
(b) When you are outside and it is over 85 degrees Farenheit - Coor's Light or Bud Select. Like drinking water, and quite refreshing
(c) You have just left work and you go to your favorite bar and want to unwind - Red Oak or the Mash House IPA (both NC breweries)
(d) You are eating pizza - Steel Reserve silver, the 8.1% version
(e) You are out on a date - Usually wine, or the most expensive beer on tap. Been quite a while since I've been on a date though
frown.gif

(f) You just want to savor the flavor - Anything from the Samuel Smith line. I usually go for the oatmeal stout or tadcaster
