Sennheiser HD202. They were awesome for the price at the time. Now I've heard KSC75 that cost roughly the same and completely destroy HD202 in every aspect. I still love the Sennheiser sound and have been moving up the food chain ever since.
I did have some cassette players and extremely cheap headphones to go with them but I don't even remember any of their names.
It was the Sennheiser ED-150 for me. They were what I was listening to when I decided "If a pair of $40 headphones sounds good, a more expensive pair must sound really nice." I was still wearing them, that same session, as I clicked the buy button on the pair of HD-595s that I'm using right now.
I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I've discovered such a deep love for music since I've been able to experience it from the audiophile level.
Some Sony Noise Canceling headphones. Don't remember the model no. Left them on a 747 somewhere. These were followed by EX 71s and then the infamous MDR-V700DJ. I thought they sounded amazing at the time!
JVC HA G101 and HA X570 which I bought for $10 each and thought that JVC headphones were really good. I still feel that these inexpensive headphone are really good for thier price.
First pair of headphones would be a Kenwood pair (can't remember the model number...I'll have to dig them out of my parent's house someday) and right before I found head-fi, I bought a pair of PXC-250's. I thought they were so cool...until I bought a pair of SR-60's and really enjoyed the signature sound over the senns.
