What headphones did you have when you bought your first amp?

I had HD580s then bought a microamp along with SR-60s and Ety ER4Ps...and that was before I found head-fi....I've since bought 5 headphones (sold only one..ouch), modded two, and bought 6 more amps (sold two).

Spare me.. I knew there were "audio-phile" vacuum tube speaker amps, but didn't know there were actually tube headphone amps.. I didn't even know there were any amps dedicated to headphone music listening period....

I got an AKG K240 Monitor (600 ohms) plugged right to the Abit's motherboard. Sounded muffled and volume control sux. Then built myself a wallwarted crossfeeded cmoy.

I just started recently getting into Hifi and jumped straight into a e500 with an X5. Then just now I pulled the trigger on a Tomahawk. I got to say I'm not disappointed with the supreme sound coming with these oh so $$$ combo. My only regret is that the TH is a little too pricey for something so small

But I am in audio heaven right now with this potent 1-2 combo. I sometimes find listening to my flac or other highly encoded music more pleasurable than gaming or movies or even anime.

HD600 and Creek OBH 11-SE then a ASL MG Head OTL shortly thereafter. That was my first solid state versus tube experimentation with headphones.
