Mercenary - "Isolation (The Loneliness in December)"

I haven't heard this group in a long while.  This was the last album to feature lead vocalist, Mikkel Sandager.  While their tunes are beautifully melodic, I feel what truly amazes me is the vocals of Mikkel.  Not only does he demonstrate his vocal range, he exemplifies it with a lot of emotion.  This album is also lot closer to a thrash metal sound compared to their previous records, but I find it in no way a con. :)

DIR EN GREY - UROBOROS

UROBOROS didn't quite open to me the first two times I heard it a couple months back. Now as I listen to it for a third time I'm hearing a lot that I missed previously. DIR EN GREY make complex music founded on some of the strongest basic emotions and mix in both unquestionable beauty and stark aggression – music that I can appreciate.
