[Capricorn: released August, 1973.] The personnel is largely that of the Herbie Hancock pre-HeadHunters albums: Mwandishi, Crossings, Sextant. This one, though, with Eddie Henderson as lead / composer is much better, far more communicative, and dynamic!!

Elvis Costello - The River in Reverse.png
This album is from 2006 - a protest album about the response to the devastation
of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I can relate; our family members were displaced and
our kids lost everything they owned. This song composed by Allen Toussaint.

This song composed by Elvis Costello

Wynton Marsalis - Hot Fives Hot Sevens.png
I bought this music from Qobuz ... it's 24/48 and dynamic range of 11.
This song composed by Lil Hardin Armstrong, she was Louis' 2nd wife.

A great arrangement of the old traditional song. Pinecone Gordon on the bone
and other madness.

New Orleans blues at its finest.

Preservation Hall - Best Of.png
Song composed by Duke Ellington and Irving Mills.

Song composed by W.C. Handy.

New Orleans music ... Mardi Gras is on February 13 this year. HD800 = :)

I've been getting a few KC box sets of late. Yesterday I got 'Starless', a 20-some-odd CD set of live performances from that era of the band.... I'm loving these huge prog rock box sets, CD's or LP's, that have been coming out the past few years.

Long-ish story I won't bore you. with, but while I was in college in Rochester NY in the early 70's, I was contacted by San Francisco art director Bruce Steinberg after seeing some of my color posterizations of Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady to see about doing the same technique on some albums he was working on.

None ended up being used, but I worked on this one, Tower of Power's self-titled one, and a live one from It's A Beautiful Day that never was released at all. This is the first time I've even seen this album cover since then - I forgot all about it!
