After listening to MFSB's version of Smile Happy on their Philadelphia Freedom (1975) album, I've moved over to War's version on their Why Can't We Be Friends album (1975). The first time I ever heard that tune it was this album, which also happens to be one of my favorite War albums. Though both tunes sound very similar, I like War's version as hits a little harder. Anyway, my favorite track on this album is Leroy's Latin Lament, a Latin tinged tune.

I randomly tried this album and totally loved it. Such a brilliant album.
I went online to read more about this album only to find out that this album was not a commercially successful one and that Gene Clark had put a lot of effort his heart and soul into this album and he was quite saddened after its failure. This album only got its due recognition post Gene Clarks death.
