I never listened to Van Morrison (except his big hits) until today, prompted by
Doug @DLeeWebb who has posted Roll With The Punches ~20 times. Now
I understand why ... very engaging music and amazing vocals. Thanks Doug!
This one's from @Ableza's brilliant eclectic music insight. Fun stuff ... begs
for kegs of beer, a pig roasting in the ground, and plenty of bad dancing. Cheers!

Great stuff!
Ex Butterfield Blues Band?
Van Morrison has produced several great albums but one genuine ‘classic’ is Astral Weeks.
The bass playing by Richard Davis is brilliant.

Elvin's got tons of great albums out there. He's played with all the great 70's blues-based bands and had a long solo career.

Edit: Great quotes from back in the day:
It was October 1966, and God had gone missing. Scanning the Decca Studios in North London as John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers set up to record A Hard Road, producer Mike Vernon felt a sense of rising panic.
“I said to John, ‘Where’s Eric Clapton?’ Mayall says: ‘He’s not with us any more, but don’t worry, we’ve got someone better.’ I said, ‘You’ve got someone better – than Eric Clapton?’ John said, ‘He might not be better now, but in a couple of years, he’s going to be the best.’ Then he introduced me to Peter Green.”
