I know that Stitches is well regarded around these parts (especially by a certain DLeeWebb), but I lean more toward Califone's earlier, more conceptual album All My Friends Are Funeral Singers and its companion film. I still haven't really delved into much of the band's earlier work, but I look forward to exploring their long discography some more approaching this Fall.
I haven't had this album on CD in a while so I bought the MoFi SACD version. Amazon offers a mp3 download along with it but it is the Legacy version. They sound very different from each other. MoFi is very laid back and warm which makes me think it sounds authentic to the time period while the Legacy version is brighter and forward sounding. I listen to the MoFi version at home and the Legacy version on my DAP.
