Yeah, I am a genuine Modest Mouse fan, that's for sure. I disagree though. I don't sense a slump. I know that there is a debate among Modest Mouse fans, as their sound has evolved, that they have been moving more toward the "mainstream." I think that a lot of people bristled when they had some mainstream success with "Float On," and possibly "Dashboard." I liked both songs. I think, if anything, there music has, over their history, become more accessible. At any rate, I know that the reviews that I've read about their new album have been "lukewarm," but I think that "The Ground Walks, With Time In a Box" is my favorite song by anybody so far this year...

I don't get your argument.
They've had several songs aired, but commonly the two you've mentioned.

Part of the reason this sound has changed is because of their two additions said odd time ago, adding The Smiths members into the group, so I think we're really starting to see them evolve appropriately.

No argument really...I don't believe that there is appropriate or inappropriate evolution for a band, or for any group or individual involved in an artistic endeavor. Their evolution is what it is, you're either along for the ride or your not. I have been on the Modest Mouse ride since the beginning. I like where it's been, I like where its gone, and I like where it is...
