I bet most can guess what movie this is from.
I just (can barely) remember the parties, back in college, with this soundtrack.
I unfortunately lost track of which other thread I found this in today, but after listening to this I finally "get" modern audio compression. What an exquisite breath of fresh air, although this edition is going to ruin most other recordings for me now! If there's not already a thread for high quality masters, that would be a fantastic addition to the forums.

I actually saw SAHB and Styx (when they were still a prog-rock band) perform at a Hi-Fi show in San Francisco back around 1975 or so.... Such a shame about Alex Harvey.
Was watching a Steve Guttenberg YouTube video review of the new Denon DP-3000NE turntable, where compared Miles Davis's On The Corner CD to the vinyl version as a quick comparison between his digital setup with Jay's Audio CD Transport and the Denon DP-3000NE turntable. The vinyl with the turntable won, but for me with a slight caveat - not a great CD copy. Anyway, he was opining on how much he loved this Miles album, which got me to give it another listen....
For me, I still find the album gets boringly repetitive as you progress through the tracks. Yes, there are variations, but the underlying music is still the same. For that reason, it's amongst my least favorite "electric" Miles Albums.

This is much better.... Miles Davis Jack Johnson (1971). I find it far more engaging and enjoyable vs. On The Corner.....
