It's easy to get overwhelmed with jazz and classical: WoW is there a lot of material! One artist/composer/performer leads to next. And then there's huge editions/box sets like this 13 Volume Sibelius collection that I still have not listened to in its entirety. The good thing is that with such an abundance of material, one won't run out of interesting music to listen to in one lifetime!
It's easy to be overwhelmed by even a handful of artists, all their releases incl. bootlegs plus biographies ... think of Zappa, Miles or i.e. Stockhausen with their extensive œuvres incl. live performances and I'm not even mentioning their sidemen ... who hadn't played with Miles after all (some are left though) but then ain't that a good part of the fun?

I have a problem. I think I've said before that I know people with 20k, 30k+ collections so I don't feel so bad. I do "purgatorize" (regulate to the "maybe try again later" folder; that is, a kind of purgatory category, hence the silly neologism 😄) albums that I don't care for or just find mediocre, at least prima facie.
Keeping in mind that in 2023 Spotify rolled out an average 100k tracks per DAY and not showing any signs of slowing down all we guys get in a lifetime is a mere glimpse into the phenomenon anway.
As to the purge folder (checked √) I lately thought about imiting myself to 1TB of storage (+ 2 backups on SSDs) for the collection plus some 'one in > one out' rule. Could work (for a while 🤪). Let's see.

You sure seem to have more in your collection than you state; lots of interesting and "deep cut" material, some of which is new to me at least. Keep exploring and posting!
Thanks, wilco ... it's a lot for sure, more than enough for a lifetime of my one-two albums/day of serious listening with a bit of the usual repetition but then again there's still WAY more beautiful music out there I haven't heard and I'll sure keep diggin' and buying more.

Got it, 'classic' nails it.

Been a fan of Gonzalo's since the late 80s and couldn't believe when he showed up and performed in the jazz club right below our (ex-)office in the middle of nowhere back in '96.

Hey now Dawg,
I have saved Gonzalo's '21 "Skyline", '90's "Discovery", although I must say thanx for this, his '06 "Avatar", (EMI high quality) - Just outstanding, my friend.
Wow, Tasty ! :beerchug:

I'll enjoy going down this aural rabbit hole of delights today! :L3000:
