Today's taste! Trumpets

One of the craziest trumpet songs ever. This guy is as good as they get, even though he played it incorrectly per his sheet music.

Haha. Anyone remember this? Herb thought he was so slick and cool in the era. Well, he kinda was. My father wore this out on his RCA counsel "record player". I had a close and play.

Oh yeah, @koover , my dad & mom were big fans of record playing on our "Sears Best"
Silvertone , maple wood T.V. console record player , all tubes w/ 12" stereo speakers - Now I do remember hearing & watching Herb Albert on "The Ed Sullivan Show" which was a gas at the time 1967-8 (?) . Tube reproduction goodness doing justice to horns .

McStine & Minnemann - McStine & Minnemann (2020)

Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto - Getz/Gilberto (1964)

I believe everyone knows this one yet, so I will just leave an image of the cover.

The Beatles - Past Masters.png
Released in 1988 by Capitol Records, these are the singles that were "left over"
when they decided to release the original British editions of The Beatles' albums.
So they just issued a double album of the singles. Everything from "Love Me Do"
to "Let It Be." Even a couple of songs in Deutsche. Cool, eh? These are at times
different than the tracks included on the albums ...

This song was composed by Little Richard ...

Here's a song by Lennon/McCartney that I'd not heard ... kinda grungy.

This song is by Deep Purple.

For your listening pleasure, I present the great Sir Richard Starkey.

The effect of the remix is clear on this song. Bass, guitars, vocals and drums are uber-clear.

John Lennon freaks out.

The latest of the Giles Martin re-mixes, tremendous SQ. If you Beatles fans
haven't heard this re-mix, IMO it's the best one yet. A huge leap better than
the original Revolver, which was pretty good anyway. There is also about
1.5 hours of rehearsals ... a blast. HD800 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> :)

I agree 100% it was hard to go back and listen to the original mix after hearing the Giles Martin version. 👍👍👍

I've just been filing vinyl away today and entering it in Discogs, and one of them was WoV's Index Masters! Stan Ridgway has always been one of my musical heroes, and he's a really wonderful and very funny guy, too...

That...was my first listen to a whole (well, EP) Wall of Voodoo album.

I liked it! Will be listening to their other albums soon.

Still so many great 80's bands/artists to explore more fully!

Speaking of, I'm listening to most of the Big Country albums below for only the 2nd or 3rd time; and a couple for the first time.
