What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Thanks for the idea, @GlenAppleton. Do you live in Wisconsin?
For today:

I have never heard Zeppelin I before today. Damn man, I know, right!? These
are the remasters in 24/96 courtesy of QoBuz. One reason I've not been a
bigger fan is IMO their recordings sounded terrible - until they were reworked.
To whomever did that work - bravo! HD800 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> :)

Well, if you think Zeppelin had awful quality back then just don't listen to more underground stuff from the 70s and so on:sweat_smile:. Great remasters though.

Going through my collection today trying to match bands with a certain set of headphones. I bought this album two years ago and it hasn't gotten much action in a while, but I really like it. Some Canadian jazz for ya:

Listening to some new chamber music, angels singing in a large reverberating room. Just beautiful.

Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow.png
Jerry Garcia is credited as the band's "spiritual advisor" on this album.
He also indirectly came up with the name of the album, by describing the music.

Grace Slick wrote this song on LSD after listening to "Sketches of Spain" by Miles Davis.

The song that Jim Morrison freaked out to whilst on tour in Amsterdam. Later, still on
the tour, he and Gracie got it on. Ooh the memories.

Jack Casady is now perfecting his unique bass-playing style ...

Jefferson Airplane - Crown of Creation.png
David Crosby wrote this song and he performs on the album. The music is
a bit more folk-oriented, and Mr. Casady has got his bass sound perfected.

From 1967-68. Their early studio albums. Jack Casady on bass; Grace Slick
et al on vocals. Part of the band's psychedelic period. Sorry to be so lengthy -
I like their music - the lyrics are cool and Casady's approach to the bass is
great ... reminds me of Chris Squire and John Entwistle. HD800 ~~~~~> :)

POV: you wake up in a parallel universe where people appreciate more Boston songs than this one. Wonderful hit anyway.
I really love this song, but it's one of my least favorite from them. Huh? I just think this band is and was incredible for this time period, while aging well. After their 2nd album though, I was pretty much done with them. Incredible how huge they were and how fast they fell. It took so long for that to happen too, and a story explaining things, would last pages.
