A bit too experimental for my tastes, but interesting. Good wake up music. https://boomkat.com/products/sequential-stream

I'm not into much vocal jazz (I think a lot of popular performers sound like bad lounge singers), but it's really great to listen to some classic 50's singers from time to time. This performer is new to me: pretty good!

The Rush album that started it all for me. I got into Rush when I was 14 (right around the time I was getting into serious "adult" music--from rock to metal to classical to jazz--and not just more pop-oriented music, and starting my CD collection) with this popular album. I was intrigued by the songs I heard (both musically and the "existential themes" of some of the songs, as I started to read existential philosophers shortly before this time) on the radio/at friend's houses; then quickly fell in love with the music and ran out and bought this and Exit...Stage Left and was just blown away (still am).

This is the 2011 "Gold" HDCD which has an incredible DR of 16 (the original press has a DR of 14) and I prefer it for sound quality. Love to listen to this one in rainy Fall weather, as that's the season when I first heard it shortly after it came out, and the "car going down a wet street" opening also reminds me of chilly, rainy, Fall weather.

Bloch is always interesting imo.

Not my favorite Sinatra songs although there are some nice tracks here. But this is a nice recording, and the orchestra swings.

Chick Corea Trio - Trilogy 2 - Disc 1.jpg
Released in 2018, a compilation of their extensive touring 2010 - 2016.
Chick is just great in "trio-mode" and this rhythm section is second to
none. I have never listened to acoustic piano jazz with the LCD-4 until
now, and I wonder why. The stage is narrower than the HD800, but the
instruments are very realistic. IMO, Brian Blade is the best jazz drummer
in the business right now. LCD-4 = :)
