I went to see The Cure in Dublin last night, a fantastic gig - three full hours and they really spanned several albums. My first time to see them too, quite emotional really as I’ve been a fan since about 1989… many memories associated over the years.
I’m reminiscing tonight, and listening to a few of my favourites that they played last night, to include the brilliant ‘Charlotte Sometimes’.

Awesome pictures - were you working the show?
For today - continuing on the Snarky Puppy catalog.
The Family Dinners (there are two) are their only albums to feature vocalists.
Studio albums 2010 - 2013. Level of snarkiness is increasing ...

No, just got there early and secured a spot up top - a bit off to the left but a good view, and not as squashed as the middle!

The band was formed in 2004 by Michael League ... the 10 musicians were
jazz students at University of North Texas. These albums are their first, from
2006, 2007 and 2008, so I suppose they were "concept" albums ... already
the band was quite snarky in nature. Their music is so experimental, perhaps
all their albums could be called "concept." Superior musicianship is displayed.

Other famous musicians who attended UNT (formerly North Texas State University) include Norah Jones, Brave Combo, Don Henley, Meatloaf, Maren Morris, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and others. Their music program is highly respected. Denton, Texas where it is located has always had a very vibrant music scene.

Great info - thanks. SP is appealing because #1 the music is engagingly snarky and #2 the musicians are very skilled. The perfect combination.Other famous musicians who attended UNT (formerly North Texas State University) include Norah Jones, Brave Combo, Don Henley, Meatloaf, Maren Morris, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and others. Their music program is highly respected. Denton, Texas where it is located has always had a very vibrant music scene.

I wonder who put that up on YouTube as 'Steve' Wilson? He's Steven Wilson. No Steve.
I shouldn’t say this about an album so witty, so thematically serious, and so skillfully produced, but these pleasantly percussive hits tickle my ears. Much of Topical Dancer is in French, which unlike Spanish, I don’t understand a lick of, so when I can’t understand the words, my enjoyment of the album primarily comes from how tactile the music is. These tracks snap, crackle, and pop like the beloved cereal. And like that cereal, they’ve put an extra bounce in my step on many a morning. Favorite tracks: “Esperanto,” “It Hit Me,” “Ich Men,” “HAHA,” and “Thank You.”
