I've given Joni Mitchell's famous album 'Blue' yet another try, and for the umpteenth time it does nothing for me.
 
I absolutely adore Court & Spark, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Hejira, For the Roses, the wonderful Shadows and Light DVD and several others, but this critically-acclaimed 1971 album leaves me utterly utterly cold. To my ears, it doesn't stand up to her best writing or her best performances, but so many people hold it up as a career highlight.
 
Maybe I'll just never get it, or maybe I'm right and so many other knowledgeable and passionate music-lovers are wrong. Who knows?
