A couple new releases for this week, both from artists I've been anticipating new material from excitedly for awhile. I'm not sure how I feel about either of them yet; I'll have to let them grow on me a bit.

After It All by Delta Rae

Beat The Champ by The Mountain Goats

Listened to  Beat The Champ the other evening. Just shows you a pretty good album can be made from just about any subject.

This Album haunts me. It Reminds me the fever and the energy of Sonny Rollins "Live at the Village vanguard" ... highly recommended. Stellar Recording.

Too much screaming ruins this album imho. I hope new album comes more like their single Rot:

But in the end... I`d rather listen Periphery - Juggernaut: Alpha & Omega They just wipe floor with every other band in this genre imho.
This album is like mix of Tesseract + Korn + Dead Letter Circus + Linkin Park... with little hint of progressive rock elements. Mesmerizing album!

I can see that. I personally really enjoy it. I'd probably say I like Erra more than Periphery.

Björk - Vulnicura

Finally bought this. Giving it a first listen. After Biophilia was so phenomenal, I guess I didn't dare to expect the new album would be very good. We'll see how it fares. Björk is an amazing lady.

Meredith Monk - Songs of Ascension

Hmm, after listening to Björk I simply must hear some Meredith Monk. As expected, Vulnicura was a bit of a mixed bag, but I expect it to grow on me to some extent.

Shōji Meguro / Atsushi Kitajoh / Toshiki Konishi - Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

Soundtrack to one of last year's very best games. I was skeptical about it but it's amazing.

AVTechNO! + Saiya - AS

This album never ceases to amaze.

Lavinia Meijer - Glass: Metamorphosis; The Hours

A truly beautiful record.
