Pierrick Pédron - Cheerleaders

This is the jazz equivalent of King Crimson. The most jazz-rock record I've heard that wasn't rock. Exceptional album.

Leszek Możdżer - Komeda

Such beauty… I'm currently listening to "The Law and the Fist" in complete awe.

As debut albums go this one is seriously impressive!

I thought the hit "strong" was good but a one-hit-wonder kind of deal. Nope, not a one-hit-wonder, far from it. These guys are seriously talanted.

And very nicely mastered too! I'll be watching these guys closely!

Pretty much my favorite metal album of 2013-Cult of Luna Vertikal...

Dang-I should never have watched the Ken Burns jazz PBS documentary on Net Flicks. My jazz collection is growing like a heroine addiction...but it swings baby!

this is some of the farthest out jazz I've heard and I totally dig this.3 albums prior to Head Hunters-full on proggy fusion...The Fat Albert Rotunda, Mwandishi and Crossings

I think I can hear post rock and ambient in Miles

Nice! I'm a fan of most of their work.

Right now it's a bunch of The Doors while I study.   I see that everyone started Gordon Lightfoot, I feel very, very stupid.

No need to feel stupid. There's loads of stuff out there that we only ever get a fleeting glimpse of. Hard to know how deep some artists influences and popularity went in their time.

I remember seeing Neil Young in a vid somewhere on stage stating that Phil Ochs was probably the greatest songwriter of his time. You could FEEL the audience think Phil who?
