Listening to: 'Hurt' from 'American IV - The Man Comes Around' by 'Johnny Cash' with Media Center 17
I have never heard a song where the distortion is as terrible as it is around 3 minutes in. It starts clipping, and Cash's voice goes to hell. Is it on purpose? I think so. This song of darkness suddenly sounds like thunder when it shouldn't. Rash, loud, and bad. The lyrics follow with the turn. Hurt is such an amazing song, and this is such an amazing cover, I wish a recording existed where it wasn't artificially loud.
It's like a bad sound system playing it, and then it's not. I'm fairly confident that was the goal, but I don't have to like it.
