Metallica - Black album. Wherever I may roam is rocking my set which is great when working late (it's 11.45PM over here)

Omer Avital Group - 'Asking No Permission.' I have a couple of Avital's other albums, but this is my favorite - a little gem. Recorded in '96, the tunes (mostly originals) have that tip of the tongue "I should know this" quality to them, and the playing will remind you of a Mingus album.

Drew Gress - '7 Black Butterflies'
 
This and the Avital are tonight's listening. Why do bass players lead such good bands?
 
Anyway, I'm at my kitchen table, plugged into an Oppo that comes out to a Cobra D10 by optical and then to the AKG 702s. I don't think there's anything I'd rather be doing.
