CD's are much easier to misplace than LP's, therefore it is reasonable to refer to it as a 'lossy' format. Especially where kids are involved.

I think ripping an entire CD collection to a physically much smaller hard drive is a very efficient form of (spatial) data compression.

More likely I'll sit on a CD, as I have a lot of those, in a lot of places.

I'm not sure what kids are, but I don't have any. I could be sitting on them all the time when I'm outside my house though. If it was important, I'd have learned about these things, in my almost 41 years, I would think anyway. Well, I'm not worried about it now. CDs are more important!
