What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

The active speaker world has been leaning this way the last few years already. Build a good box, fidget minimally in the physical world to improve the overall performance, then fidget the rest in dsp to smooth out the actual sound.

I've been chasing High Fidelity (with the definition of fidelity being " the degree of exactness with which something is copied or reproduced") for a long time. I'll buy a MP when it come out of course, but it will seem odd that the goal isn't hearing exactly what was recorded.

I would guess that he finds Mike Moffat's genius compelling! Plus, if he doesn't like it he can always return it.

I have been using a DSP for probably about 2 years now to correct for room issues causing bass boom so I can categorically say if used properly they bring nothing but benefits. The difference it made to my overall listening enjoyment was HUGE! On that note I can't wait for the MP :D

Any word on price? Would a mimby sized Manhattan ("Brooklyn") ever cost more than mimby? Ditto bimby?

Furthermore, have you tested Manhattan through a delta sigma dac against a multibit dac without Manhattan in the chain? Do you have a preference?

Just realized thinking about stacking mimby, "Brooklyn," and wyrd that an optical cable is like 6% of the cost of the USB decrapifier. Should've saved my money on the USB input option on my then-boober back when it was $100. How ignorant I was!

OK, I must have zoned out somewhere during the last 154 pages.

Does anyone, aside from Baldr, know what MP is going to do and how it will integrate into a collection of Schiit boxes?

Why do you say "of course"? What do you find so compelling that you've already decided to buy one?

Because it comes from the mind of one of the finest in digital audio design....

Read all those but never tied them together for better comprehension of what the end result might be. Thanks.

Sounds like it should work for both headphoner's like myself as well as the 2 channel in-roomer's.

Color me intrigued.

Manhattan is not a D to A converter, so it does not use a delta sigma DAC. Visit post_13316377.

"It changes listening "to" to listening "in" and is a very different experience."

Almost sounds like a 3D sound field generator. An audio "Holodeck".
