No.2 would be Sony XBA-4iP for sound alone (these were my first taste of higher end IEMs- I pounced on a pricing sticker error ($210 vs $350) when I was looking around a Sony store). Their bulky housing and cable down config gets kind of annoying since I like to run the cable inside my jacket and they get pulled off when I turn my head. The 1st gen XBA's are J-split cord for non mic/buttons and Y-split for those with mic/buttons. I don't know about the 2nd gens.
 
No.3 is Phonak PFE 132 for its nice balanced sound and comfort.

I decided to take a nap and overslept again, so I just got the LE. Still haven't gotten around to listen to it but I'll definitely post first impressions later today.
And here are the happy brothers together at last.

 
Also just as I thought the vent hole near the nozzle plays its part in the tuning - with the VSD1S having just a very tiny hole in the plastic while VSD1 and VSD1LE have bigger vent holes with some kind of filter (black on the VSD1 and whitish on VSD1LE)
 
edit: Just like vsonic's ceo said the LE isn't much harder to drive than his brothers.
 
edit: Ok, gave it a quick listen against the VSD1S. So far the bass is not as tight as on the VSD1S - seems to be somewhere between the VSD1 and VSD1S in body and impact. The mids sound lusher and smoother. The VSD1S's mids sound drier in comparison but with better clarity. The treble seems to be a bit laid back with maybe a touch less extension and sparkle. It is smoother though and less sibilant. Overall, the LE seems to have lusher and more enveloping sound with a bit thicker note presentation.
Of course, that's based on only 15-20 minutes of listening without any burn-in

So which of the three are you liking the best. I have the vsd1s and it sounds better then my gr07 be with my dx50 otherwise I prefer the sound of my gr07 be.

Between VSD1 and VSD1S I prefer the VSD1S. I'm still not rushing to conclusions about the Limited edition as I have literally spent like 15 minutes with it. I'm burning it in right now and I have to spend some quality time with it before passing any judgment on it.
 
edit: anyway, boring is not the first thing that came in my mind. So far it's definitely the most different out of the three. The difference between VSD1 and VSD1S is smaller coz they have similar note presentation while the LE is thicker and a bit darker sounding.One may even say it sounds a touch congested even though the soundstage is more enveloping. I'll wait to see how it changes with burn-in although I don't think I'll be doing the suggested 200 hours. I might also try different tips coz while I found some tips to make the VSD1/S more open sounding they made them a bit too neutral and boring IMO while I think that the LE will be able to handle that. 
I definitely need to spend some time with these.

Guess no one here wants to hear my impressions, but i am gonna give it anyways.

4th listen today and sound doesn't seem to have change much despite the continuous burn-in BUT their "neutral" less extended/ more outta' the head soundstage make these VSD1 LEs AMAZING sounding with metal music. Was listening to the same Chinese metal band yesterday on my Nokia N9 with my VDS1 Classics and it was a little bit bright/ harsh due to the very well extended treble. The spacing and the head room wasn't as big/good enough it seems so faster/ more intricate passages/ percussion sounded more congested and fatiguing.
 
Listening to the same album with the VSD1 LEs on the other hand sounded much more spacious, with little to no less congestion and fatigue as the result of the tamer treble, which makes the yelling and screaming much more listenable/ enjoyable. Also i also noticed that the dac/amp of my Nokia N9 has more emphasis on the bass end as well as treble, along with a big soundstage and it works wonderfully with less colored more neutral iems/ cans. So i would imagine sources that has a more colored sound such as the new Fiio X3s would sound pretty damn good with these VSD1 LEs as well.

One last thing, you know what the bass end/ sound signature/ technical capabilities of these VSD1 LEs really reminded me of and is very similar, the new Apple earpods. DEAD SERIOUS!!!

Is it safe for me to say that the VSD1 family has the following sound signatures:
 
VSD1:      V-shaped U-shaped
VSD1S:     Balanced  Flat
VSD1LE:  Mid-centric "old man tuning"

^ Oh also these VSD1 LEs are MUCH more forgiving and less revealing on utterly schiityly recorded/ mastered low bit-rate junk tracks. It's more true for probably the former cuz it makes the overall listening experience more enjoyable due to less fatigue if you have A LOT of crappy mastered bright pop music. haha
 
So would i say these VSD1 LE are more "refined" out of all the VSD1 variants??? Nope not by a long shot, but with their more "polite/ old man" tuning you can listen to these all day without ear bleed. The VSD1 Classics are more engaging with its better extension but is less smooth/ forgiving. They all serve their purpose i guess, old man tuning is still old man sound.

I'd consider the vsd1's to be more U shaped.

Does the VSD1 LE sound similar to the mh1c? warm, bassy and smooth... If it is less bassy, better mids, bigger, airy soundstage and about the same treble smoothness and extension, i'm happy.
 
Argh, can't wait for mine!

Hmmm i would say they are still different flavors. The Sony MH1Cs are just STUPID refinely smooth, where the warmer bass is still more the central emphasis/ attraction.
 
These VSD1 LEs on the other hand is more balanced, and no doubt a lot less warm sounding. They are just slightly "warmer" in comparison to the gr07 BEs and VSD1 Classics cuz of their amazing extension/ depth while the VDS1 LE is more rounder in bass texture/ less extended in the highs. The mids on the VSD1 LEs are no doubt more forward and lusher than the Sony MH1Cs, bass has more depth but is less smooth, treble is also more extended than the MH1C but again is less smooth as the Sonys.
 
Both seems to be extremely forgiving and not that revealing of badly recorded stuff, or what have you.
 
In a nutshell these are the differences to me.
