I honestly wish i could figure that out myself. Came back from the gym one day and pulled them out of my ears and the housing just came apart. trying to see if i can glue them back together still or find a way to fix them. If not I might buy a new pair or just use my tf10s again.

Why would they do that when they already have the vsd1s model availble. Now they have vsd1, vsd1s and vsd1 special edition.

You migt be right. VSD1S units are out of stock and they are hyping the last units as much they can and sell it as vsd1 special edition.

I thought about that too as they are out of "standard" VSD1S. Now, at least the pictures I saw there, there is a number between 000 to 999 so it makes sense this is a special counted edition.
 
As well, the specs published are different from standard VSD1S (80 ohms input impedance impedance, lower sensitivity etc).
 
They had an offer for the first 20 guys to get it for the original price and I just ordered mine a few hours ago 

 I will publish some pics as soon as I get it, perhaps early on next Monday/Tuesday! 

  My RE400 will have to wait a few more weeks

I saw that too but thought it was a typo and ignored but still I wont buy them, the new generation of vsonic is way to close and I need to save my moneh.

Yeah,we need to X check.....Really if there is a facelift or accessory added or driver/housing tweaked or replaced high grade cable or other spec altered etc. I'm also curious to know this fact, as I planned to buy VSD1 but have to wait until a concrete confirmation. if true, then I lean towards VSD1S-SE.....

The VSD1 with the Numbering on the housing is the VSD1 Limited Edition. It was actually announced in August and was on pre-order only in China with 999 units made. It was supposed to come on 15th of September but Came out October 1st. As far as I know it's using the same drivers as VSD1 and VSD1S but with increased impedance (80ohm) and different tuning. According to Vsonic's CEO it's tuned like the VSD7 and a good way to demo the VSD7's sound signature. I couldn't order a pair initially coz it was supposed to be sold only in China to previous vsonic customers and one 1 pair per person but it seems that during the 2-day pre-order period not all of the units were sold and that's how they are available at certain retailers now.
