So has anyone listened to both iems enough to be able to say which would be better for the stuff I listen to (ex: Yes, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Queen, Journey, Dream Theater, Megadeth, Queensryche, King Crimson, Rush, Nine Inch Nails, Primus, Soundgarden, Jane's Addiction, Alice in Chains)?

All the above bands you mentioned are pretty awesome on vsd1's. Can't comment on vsd1s.I haven't tried it.You cant go wrong with vsd1 on the above bands.Good Luck.

My first (not sound) impressions: where's the L and R? why it's back to front comparing to it's shape and construction!?
Results are quite obvious: problems with comfort, isolation and seal.
As to the sound: really good at first sight, but I think it sounds better and fuller reversely wear (R/L), otherwise the sound is more leaking
Is it a fake with this L/R position or they've really invented it...?
The earphone labelled "VSD1" should be L or R?

I listen to a lot of power metal and symphonic metal which has: female vocals (opera-ish) + orchestra + metal.
The review states that VSD1 is good for rock/metal. VSD1S is for female vocals, simphonic. So now I'm torn between those 2. What do you guys think I should get?
Thanks.

Well, the one that has the "VSD1" writing on it and a small bump on the strain relief is the right one and it's not that hard to tell them apart.

I'm still waiting for my VSD1S, which hopefully will arrive this week and then I'll be comparing the two if you can wait.

It fits better when I wear the "VSD1" one on the left side. It's like in line with it's design to wear it this way.

And you wear it cable down? No way it's going to fit me properly or is in line with the placement of the nozzles to wear it cable down with the channels reversed. If I'll be swapping the channels I would wear it over-the-ear - that's how you'll get the best fit.

I think I said that a while back. Might just be the ear anatomy but they kinda made more sense reversed. A great fit and found both sides easier to even out the seal/SQ and the stage was a bit more 3D depth-wise. R and L are harder to get an even seal with for me the correct way. I should say were actually as I just mailed my pair off to a new owner today.

Also, new info tweeted today. No more fit issues as the new models will be designed like the Westone and Shure shape:  [I know no big version photo with the VSD5 in that I could find. Anyone who finds one feel free to post it]

"Exposure】 【VSONIC heavy pushing new VSD3 & VSD5 front view] are around ear, where diamond irregular flat matte shell design, is amended several times in order to achieve an important measure to break the traditional home and abroad. D3 series and D5 are adopting this design. D3 for SE535 toward, D3S for W4R toward, D5 is targeted SONY EX1000 direction. D3 series 299RMB, D5 series 399RMB. January 1, 2014, we look forward to.

So we know we have a new shape and sound direction. Before people speculated that they will be as good as the models mentioned but I only see they have the tuning of those phones. Not that the VSD5 will be as good as the EX1000 but tuned to sound in the direction of it. VSD3 mid focused like the 535 and the VSDS tuned more like a W4. So, how good they are we will see in early 2014 but I am not getting that they really promise to be as good as those phones for $50 and $65 but will tuned to sound like the signatures of the EX1000, W4, and the SE535. Maybe 80% of again?

If wear them reversed and cable down there is 40% better isolation and 40% more bass - the same over the ear.
It can be brighter or darker depending on you wear them. I prefer the latter result so it's possible I will rejack it.

Well, I guess you can wear them however you like. I personally wear them as intended and there is no way to get any better seal aside from a touch better when worn over the ear. It's hard to imagine how you wear it cable down with the channels reversed (maybe you can post a pic) but I guess ears are different and what's comfortable for one may not be for the others and vice versa
