Has anyone got the vsd1 and the vsonic GR07BE? Do they share the same sound sig and do they come close to the 80% sound quality that vsonic claim?

For me they do. I had the GR07BE's but for some reason I never really got the proper fit and seal with them and as a consequence the sound was thin and the treble a bit harsh. But with the VSD1's I effortlessly get the seal/fit/sound that I am looking for, and I'm very happy with them. Personally I think the VSD1's are an amazing deal for the price (like the Bassos). The fact that they are also very flush makes it possible to wear them to sleep, or possible to wear them under earmuffs, and it also means that when you use them while biking, the wind noise is minimized. I am finding them to be extremely versatile, and enjoyable to boot.

Some other poster who has some GR07 variant recently got the VSD1 posted how impressed they were with the VSD1 and said that they definitely have 80% of the SQ of GR07 in question. I wish I could find that post.. it was within the last few days.

Well, it's pretty hard and subjective to put a percentage on one iem in comparison to another. The fact is that the VSD1 is an incredible bang for buck. Actually, I was swapping tips on the gr04fe and the only tips that make it sound that good are the mh1c's, which means that for it to be on par (or better depending on the sound preferences than) the VSD1, one has to spend 30 bucks more to get the mh1c, which makes the VSD1 the better bang for buck, especially if you want more bass.

How do the mh1c tips change the sound of vsd1?

Well, they make the sound even smoother and more neutral, tame the bass a bit and add a touch more air to the presentation. But I don't know if it's the burn-in but the the vsd1 doesn't sound as bassy as it did in the beginning and I returned to the stock tips, which make the sound a little warmer and more engaging and the timbre is more natural to me. Just the mh1c's tips make the sound a bit too smooth for me now. They make a much bigger difference on my gr04 flagship, which is a more mid-forward, warm and a bit aggressive without them and with them the sound gets more balanced and neutral. The vsd1 already is smoother in the mids and they are a touch laid back, so the sound gets a little boring for me with the mh1c's tips.
Of course, I often change my opinion on which tips I like with a certain iem, so I might soon decide I like another tips better. That usually goes for a while until I finally settle on a pair.

got a pair of gr02 be a few months ago and was impressed, was going to order a pair of gr07 be but these came along
my pair of vsd1's should be here any day now.  i mainly listen to drum and bass, dubstep and hiphop/rap.
is it worth doing 100hours burn in using something like JLab's burn in player? or should i just use them and let burn in happen?

It will be interesting to put the vsd1 against the gr02 be, im guessing it will have similar sound sig. Plus these sound great for drum and bass, dubstep and hiphop, infact there great allrounders. I find them more engaging, and more satisfying overall than listening to my jvc s500's and mh1c. About burning in, I found they needed a fairly short burning in process. Maybe around 10-20 hours to sound really good. Bass is very bloated and boomy out of box but will settle after burn in.
