Do the  tenore's have faster bass or do the VSD1's have faster bass?
From what I have read so far the VSD1 is good if you want thumping bass and Tenore's for airy and sub bass.
I listen to mostly 135bpm+ trance so prefer faster IEMs.

You can't really go wrong with either.

However I prefer micro-dynamics simply of their speed, sparkle and sub bass. Carbon nanotubes are made for Trance.

Just so I'm clear.. which iem's are you referring to?

You should probably stop generalizing about microdrivers and speed coz it's not always true. For instance, the mh1c has microdrivers and it's bass is like those slow guys that always participate in the marathon just for the accomplishment even though it takes them a day to finish it. The vc02 and  eph100 have microdrivers and also aren't exactly the fastest. The fxd70 has carbon microdrivers and isn't exactly the fastest either. So far I wouldn't link microdrivers to speed.

Well its kinda logical really, and not generalizing.

Just think about it, the smaller the driver the smaller distance that the vibrations have to travel from centre to the edge and so it moves faster. Hence it you get a faster kick-drum.

Its kinda simple really mate, thats why 11mm will most likely sound slower with regards to bass-kicks comparing to say a 5.8mm driver.

Remember housing material also.

Exactly mate.

In most cases the smaller the driver the smaller the housing has to be, hence the sound waves wont have to travel as far.

Of course that all depends on where the driver is positioned.

Nah, the 11mm VSD1's driver is a bit  faster than the mh1c. If you really want to hear what speed really is just go with BA drivers. Aside from some faster dynamic ones like the gr07 it's not even fair to compare dynamic drivers to BA in the speed department. Even something cheap like the a161p which is single-BA makes something like the mh1c a snail in the bass department. There are pros and cons to both types but speed isn't something that dynamic drivers and microdrivers can be proud with.
