I'll sell you my used R1's for 70% of their original price

Just teasing you. I haven't listened to my R1's for ages, but they have very different signatures, so you have to factor in your personal preferences (the R1's have much more of a V sig). For me, the VSD1's are way better. The bass is better (ie more controlled) on the vsd1's (the quantity is about the same), the mids are a bit forward on the vsd1's versus the slightly recessed mids on the R1's, and the treble is more refined and detailed with the vsd1's.

I'll give the R1's a listen again though and let you know if my impressions change.

lmao.... I almost never laugh at internet comments. Thanks for the reply. Thanks to the others, too. I didn't expect such fast replies.

Digging the stock single flanges the best so far.  The fake Comply's are no good.  They don't even stay squished before getting them in the ears.

Ha! I took one of them out, looked at it, squished it a bit, got a sourpuss look on my face, and that was as far as it got to my ear. So I know what you mean!

I'll have to give the stock single a whirl again.. (have to somehow firstly rip the Basso's out of my ears. Damn - how/when did cheap iems get so good?)

In a moment of insanity I ordered a pair of the new Westone sports IEM's so I need to sell these as I just can't justify so many IEM's so anyone who missed the promo pricing on these, here is your chance http://www.head-fi.org/t/666596/brand-new-unopened-vsonic-vsd1. Note I am waiting for these to still arrive (should be here soon, so check the bottom of my FS for details).

These are good for sure.  The MH1C tips are nice too.  Glad I took the plunge on these.  Nice bargain no doubt.  I'm just gonna let them burn overnight and all day tomorrow and see how they sound after work.  I think Ds needs to hear these.  I remember the GR07 and although they sounded nice, the signature didn't wow me.  These aren't wow earphones either but that bass punch adds an element that keeps me engaged.  Another easy one to recommend to people and doesn't hurt the wallet so bad.

What are y'all using to burn these in? White/pink noise or just shuffling through playlist?

I usually go with pink, white, brown noises mixed with heavy drums and frequency sweeps at night. I often use dweaver's burn-in files also as I've had good results with them the past couple of years. During the day I go with all kinds of music but mostly stuff like fast dubstep or trance mixed with the occasional metal and rap albums.

Wow I thought for sure someone would have snapped up my pair already. Brand new in box at the original sale price plus shipping seems like a reasonable price considering these are unavailable right now...

For me, my gym list. A nice list of thumping tunes, I'm not a fan of noise, I like to use a wide spectrum, plus I can put them on just to see how they're cooking.

Thanks. So generally more bass heavy music? I might give dweaver's burn in files a try..

I tried to google 'dweaver burn in' but had no luck. Then i went back to this thread and realised you commented straight under! Definition of coincidence haha. Would you be able to provide me a link of some sort where i can download your burn in mix? Thanks.

I use http://jlabaudio.com/index/burn-in it has a mix of white noise, pink noise, radio static, different frequency sweeps, and a minute of silence between these so the driver is not overworked. And maybe every six hours or so I'll give a listen to select tracks and make a mental note of any difference.

I have the VSD1 and the M-Duo going right now with the VSD1 going on 50 hours and the M-Duo just at 15hours. I use an audio splitter from my laptop with the volume on medium-low the first 30 hours then medium-high after that. Since the two IEM are different hours, of course I go with the newer one for volume level.

I've only used this method recently starting with the Monoprice 9927(major improvement), UE6000 (bass improved) and now these two.
VSD1's improvement was with the reduction of bass bloat. I will find out what the difference is on the M-Duo in a few hours, but initial impressions were very good on those already.

Well, there's no thread called this way and the head-fi's search isn't the greatest but I think I linked the files recently.
