Vision Ears and Rhines Custom Monitors (formerly Compact Monitors)

I think VE were really smart to release a universal Elysium - quite a few people I’ve spoken to on the forums only didn’t buy one because it was available in custom only and their either didn’t feel like shipping their impressions all the way to Germany, or the wait time was an issue etc etc
I think it is a smart move to release a universal Elysium as well. With COVID-19 it is allot harder at the moment to have impressions made, this allows VE more sales without needing impressions.

I ordered a custom elysium right as things closed down, I couldn’t get impressions in time. I ended up pulling the trigger on the erlkonig yesterday since I couldn’t get the elysium anymore, today the universal comes out. Funny how things work out, lol. Still happy with my purchase regardless as I enjoyed the erlkonig, but that timing though!

I hear that. Luckily timing was on my side and I was able to get my order for customs completed. I am waiting on delivery.
Looking forward to your review.

Hi @normie610 ,

the tuning of the ELYSIUM is always the same. As always, the perceived sound depends a lot on the fit. In the custom version it is part of the deal that it fits. The universal version fits differently for every individual. Therefor it is not too easy to say if there will be more bass or less for you explicitly in a custom or universal version of the ELYSIUM.

I hope that helps you a bit.

All the best,

Johannes
Hi Johannes. What is the expected sound signature if the EVE20? Tks.

On their website they mention it’s energetic and textured - similar to the VE8

I just found it and read that. But it has to be different than the VE8. Did VE say when you will receive yours? Tks.
Early to mid May - @Deezel177 already has a sample though and will be posting impressions :)

My impressions should go up within a day or two. They are indeed very punchy-sounding IEMs, but with fantastic texture and presence in the mids as well. From what I remember the VE8 to sound like (though, yes, it's been a while since I last heard it), the EVE 20 is more energetic and W-shaped. I believe what VE meant with the mention of the VE8 on their website is that it's more comparable in terms of raw performance to the VE8 than the VE6. Having compared both six-drivers against each other, I must agree.

Ordered the Erlkonig on Monday and it’s out for delivery now. Crazy fast shipping from Germany. I had to pay $41 to DHL for import duties.

Similar to StageDiver 5 maybe? 🤔

One of the most pleasurable unboxing experiences I’ve had. No need to post any more pics as they’re readily available online.

Enjoying the listen :)

VE really just needs to bring out a VE8 uni 😏 ... you know you want to ... VE8 and Elysium universal and I think you guys would have the universal maker eating out of your hand 😉

The Erlkonig has a 5.5mm bore, the IEMs come with both 4.5mm and 5.5mm size spinfits. I got the 4.5mm on with no issues, is it safe to assume I could get the 4mm spin fits on there too? They sell those in size SS which my right ear could use.
