That’s cool dude, sometimes one of the more unpopular pairs just click with you

I for one am pretty confident in saying the Noble Katana is a pretty mediocre IEM but I enjoy it as it really clicks with my preferences you know

Absolutely. While I was reading the Head-fi reviews posted about the Rai Penta, all of them trying to be polite and not trash Meze, I kept thinking, "these guys are describing what I want in an "all-arounder". When I had the opportunity to trade a pair which didn't work for me, I took it.

I had a similar experience with the Focal Elear. Half the headphone community hates it, but it clicked pretty well with me - it’s the closest HP to an IEM from what I’ve heard haha. Might try the LCD3 today however, and that might be a good open back option for me

It’s cool that you don’t take these things personally though, the same can’t be said for a lotta people around here :D

Depends on how the attitude of the other poster comes across. You and I are crossing paths pretty regularly in various threads and I think we have similar attitudes. But generally, nah, everyone is entitled to his own opinion and as long as a post is written like an opinion, who can reasonably argue? I don't like posts which come across as blanket statements or "rules" though. Unless they are about physics or something similar. Explaining how an electrical circuit works isn't really up to interpretation, but stating the VE Elysium's bass, "is the best bass period" is.

I haven't heard the LCD-3, but a friend loaned me his LCD-X. Those were an adventure. As you surmise from my M3 and M4 reviews the LCD-X left a lasting impression on me.

Got notice that my ear impressions are at German customs. Anyone have a rough idea how long it takes to process through? Not a big deal, just curious. Thanks!

My ear impressions were delivered to Cologne on Tuesday morning. I have not received anything back from VE yet. I am still waiting.

Hi there,

The process normally is: When we receive the ear-impressions and already have an online order in the system, we assign the impressions to the order and put it in the production schedule. Next step will be that you receive the invoice via e-mail.
If you do not hear anything directly after the impressions arrived, that is a good thing, as we will only contact you directly, if the impressions are not good to work with ;o)

I hope that helps!

All the best,

Johannes

The above certainly helps. Thank you :)
Sometimes no answer is a positive answer
And kudos to Johannes at VE! I feel like I've been bombarding him with questions and pictures, and he has always been prompt, courteous and patient with my antics! Super excited that my order is now in their production queue.

VE actually made the HALC unit green and had a Hulk action figure in their exhibit at the Hong Kong audio show (where the ELYSIUM premiered) in reference to that name similarity.
