I used to have the EXACT same setup a few years back!!! (except mine was in silver) I still have the CD-player. With the HD650 it was pure listening pleasure all the way. I miss it after looking at your picture - thanks for sharing!
Have you tried any tuberolling in the CD-player?
Are you using the KHV-1 as a preamp? I never did - but they say it sounds fantastic as well working as a preamp.
