very picky customer needs help buying IN THE UK

right. well since i sent my husband to the shop for me, i now own a wonderfully soft pair of Bose AE2s.

I am overjoyed - out of the box, no need to stretch them, there's no pain. None under my ears, none where my thick plastic glasses sit, none on top where the band rests.

These are £119 worth of pillowy soft light-as-a-feather headphoney-goodness.

Thanks everyone who journeyed through this with me, i appreciate all the suggestions and the help. You've been great. :)

Now, off to find some flacs and play with my new toys! It feels like Christmas in my house right now :D :D :D

They sound good enough to me! Not heavy on bass; its a gentle thump, not hard and harsh.

Everything i could've wanted, and then some: 2 hrs and counting i've had them on, and not an ounce of pain! Wheee!

Congrats your new headphone!  Comfort is most definitely a strength of the Bose line.  Now, allow yourself to melt into the pillowy soft embrace of the AE2, as it surrounds you with beautiful music.

Congrats :) I would love a comfy pair of bose.... But alas, I reach for the Sennheiser hd650's. Someone should fuse the two...

Lol, so I take it the Bose are still working their comfort magic?

and even more interesting, the bass is now punchier?

Been listening to Pink Floyd a lot lately, and to be honest, the bassline of High Hopes and What Do You Want From Me has soared! I cannot believe how much more bass there is than when i first bought them.

Not that i felt the bass was low, but it was perhaps a bit, understated maybe? Now it feels leveled out, even across the board, very smooth and laid back but at the same time very much *present and correct* iykwim.
