Dragonfly vs GoDap X

I was hoping to solicit some opinions on these 2 products. I currently own the Dragonfly and love it. It has spoiled me so much I don't get nearly the pleasure of listening to me iPhone when I am traveling. I am looking to sell the Dragonfly and pick up a GoDap X. In this situation I would use it both from my computer and iPhone when I am mobile.

I am hoping there are some on here that have had experience with both and if so in your opinion, is the Go Dap X on par with the Dragonfly from a Dac/Amp combo? Any info and opinion will help. Thanks.

Does anyone have power specs on the amp for GoDap X?  Regarding a lightning adapter, I only see lightning to USB from Apple. Doesn't GoDap X use mini USB?  Does that mean I would need to purchase a USB to mini USB adapter if I purchase Iphone 5 and want to use with GoDap X?

Specs back to 1st page.

For iPhone 5, you'd need a cable like below which VentureCraft sells too :-

Thanks!  So GoDapX has less power than GoDap4/ Vamp ??

So, the

1) Go-DAP X as per page is 80mW/ch.
2) Go-DAP 4.0 is 70mW/ch (http://venturecraft.jp/gadget_en/gd04_spec.php)
3) V-Moda VAmp has 150mW/ch (http://v-moda.com/vamp/)
4) V-Moda Verza has ???mW/ch.....???...yet to be revealed :D

I'm going by memory here cos I listened to the basic Go-DAP 4.0 base model OPA2134 back in Oct -> Nov '11. Since then I upgraded my OpAmp & a whole bunch of other stuff like the gain, DAC caps, etc. So my Go-DAP 4.0 sounds much closer to the VAmp than the original base 4.0. My X OTOH is back to the base OPA2134 & sadly I neglected to review it for VentureCraft.

So, based on memory, the answer is yes. I talking to VentureCraft, their response is also "yes". The X is just a iDevice-independent version of the 4 with a few other tweaks :-
- any iDevice
- USB DAC/Amp
- Slightly higher output
- pseudo 3D Surround Sound (which I've never used)

What's the same:
- AKM AK4353 DAC
- 2200mAh battery
- ASR tweak (which I never use too)

I dropped my X back to VentureCraft to change the OpAmp to the LMExxxxxxxx, & I'll review it then.

Thank you for the amp comparison.  Did the Go-DAP 4.0 feel underpowered to you?  The reason I ask is that I run Vamp, even at 150mW/ch, near full volume sometimes with my M-100.  I suppose for the price, I expect more power and hope the Verza version ups the ante.

Wow, ok you listen to volumes higher than me then. With my Go-DAP, yes I find myself almost maxing out. I'd probably say 25-30 degrees counterclockwise from max. And I thought that's high. So with my VAmp, before I gave it to my friend, I was prolly more around the 1/2 way mark. The Go-DAP is noticecably weaker than the VAmp but I don't feel that it's unsatisfactory for my listening dB volumes.

P.S. yes, with the M-100 too
P.P.S. as for the Verza, I don't think there's much I'm allowed to say. I'd just recommend you to look out for posts by @ccluk or @valkolton. I'd just be regurgitating what they say anyway - aside from that, my lips are sealed. Sorry.

Hi!

My Go Dap X arrived this friday!

He really sounds amazing with my LCD-2 and my Denon D600. The sound signature are close to my Schiit Mjolnir!

I am still surprised at how all the head-fiers went crazy at the iriver  AK100 headphone output impedance of 22.41ohm, but not a sound was made about the Go-dap X output impedance of 47ohms.

Strangely quiet.
