Anyone using M100 without amp? Is sq worth the price? Or M80 would be way to go?

It depends on the quality of your current source or DAC/amp (or computer soundcard). The M-100 sounds OK out of my 4-year old MacBook (so it benefits from a portable amp), and significantly better out of the 15" Retina MacBook Pro (so a portable amp isn't really needed). Likewise, the M-100 sounds just fine straight out of the Sansa Clip Zip but double amping it with an external amp does help it a little.

I know but you were mainly taking about the m80 about the bass,I want to know about the lp2, if it's a significantly lower amount

Not significantly less, but a little bit.  The main difference is it is a lot more controlled and clear.  Not nearly as muddy and doesn't bleed into the upper ranges.  Yes, it's less than the LP2, but that might just be my ears not noticing it as much because the other aspects of the sound are more well rounded, therefor they aren't just completely overwhelmed by the bass.

Thanks man, really appreciate it

M-100s just came in. Aside from a slight snafu on the customized shields, they seem pretty good. I need to A/B them with my MDR-V6s at work to get the full effect.

One thing I noticed, though--the microphone cable is not very sensitive at all. My voice sounds super-distant in Voice Memos (how I self-test mics). I have to tap the mic pod (the top one under my ear, not the control pod) *hard* to get it to budge the level meter.

Is this normal? Or do I have a bum mic cable?

Just ordered mine on 12-5-12.. Order status changed to "awaiting shipment" one day later. I paid $11.00 for faster shipping... I ordered the shadow version, like my m80s, but with red custom shields with this on them. hopefully they'll look good

Amazon has them in stock today and they are qualified for $5 off a $25 Amazon.com purchase. Just grabbed one white silver M-100 for $295. Of course no bonus items, but I can have them by next Wednesday.

Badass, all hail Goku! You did get permission to use this image though right?

Permission for personal use? Not needed. If V-Moda was selling shields like this en mass, then V-Moda would need permissions, not the consumer.

Have not heard of anyone trying the m100s with those amps, but I heard they make a great team with the zo2...
Anyway, I'm pairing them up with my Rocoo P, I'll decide later weather or not to got the zo2 for extra bass.. probably not though, conisdering i'm using the rocoo p
