A poor quality bass 6dB boost (resonances, lack of tightness etc) may sound more bloated than like 9~10dB boost if it's done right.

I ordered the blue shield with the matte black but I'm hoping they are the midnight blue, didn't see that option?...I might have messed up, maybe i should have just got brushed metal instead.
