@Evshrug, just wondering what's the lowest price you've seen the creative reacon 3d?

btw: there is a new product out from creative: the sound blaster omni. only does 5.1 though. currently cheaper than recon3d.

info about the recon & new z sound cards.

Yeah I like the Omni too, but you can't decode DDL 5.1 surround from consoles like you can with the Recon3D USB. If you just need a surround processor (and mic) for a PC (Mac or windows), the Omni is a great choice. Both are decent DACs too, but you could plug a different DAC into the Omni's SPDF jack if you want, though since both are USB you could just as easily swap USB DACs. I bought my first Recon3D USB for $70, gave it to someone as part of a bundle sale, and bought another one this year for the same $70. You can use PCpartsPicker.com to get an alert when something like this goes on sale.

Nice thing about the M-100, it works well plugged straight into the Recon3D USB.

Do any national stores (in the US) carry the M100's? Id like to give them a listen before I get them if possible. Specifically in MN if you're in this neck of the woods.

Best Buy and Brookstone.

Best Buy sells them online, but they do not carry them in store at this point.  Microsoft store though, I believe, is another one that may them on display.

Microsoft Store definitely carries them in store. That's where I demoed and purchased mine (10% educator and student discount).

Hey guys, any ideas on how to get a set of M-100 black earpads? or even a white set of the XL pads? I saw some discussion in this thread a while back but never saw it go anywhere.

there is no white XL pad currently. people have gotten white LP pads from V-Moda & swapped em into the M100.

If you go to V-Moda's website, you can find all the different earpad options under accessories.

My ear just got electric shocked by my M100. I was listening to music and then heard a buzz sound from the left driver and there was a little electric shock on my left ear. This may be related to the hissing sound i talked about. Anyone had this issue?
