USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

If the choice is iFi Go Link, I have two to sell... one untouched in its box and the other one just tried out and put back in its box as I prefer other dongles..
hey. 4377 is in Creative X1 I think - very good, not the most modern but with relatively high output power from just 3.5mm; though I do not know how it pairs with very sensitive IEMs (noise, hiss etc.). I can absolutely recommend UA1plus (2*CS43131, up to 1.6V output) or GoLink (1*ES9219, up to 2.05V output) - both are amazing for very sensitive IEMs (>115dB/V); and even for relatively sensitive smaller or bigger ear/head-phones (>100dB/V), as long as you take care of your hearing and do not listen to VERY loudly. Or as a dac/preamp for bigger amplifier. In terms of sound...this modern (now and few years back) exemplary well implemented DACs and mini-amp-stages to me all sound amazing, IMO it is kind of waste of time to analyze tiny differences, if there are any. According to manufacturers and their marketing approach, probably Shanling and iFi may be coherent with your sound expectations.about the ak4377 chip vs normal akm dac chips (with opamps i assume) vs other dongles and can recommend some i can look into
GoBlue update? Another chance from iFi to offer something new instead of just reheating (very good indeed) cutlets

if i wanna avoid one thing like the plaque its ESS chips .... had 4 or 5 dacs with them till i finally got a CS chip dac (Black Lion Audio 2x2 Revolution interface) and it sounds so much better
while my opinion is probably not applicable to all ESS chips (i think all my dacs came from the 9038q2m era) and depends on overall implemention i still feel more comfortable just going with either CS (because of my recent discovery of them sounding quite good) or AKM (because the general conses seems to go more into the direction of natural instead of bright sounding top end)

unless there is some other underdog i will probably try the shanling UA1 Plus, many seem to like it
Edit: just saw you can even select digital filters on the UA1 Plus, big plus imo for tweakability

well atleast i believe soIf you can hear any difference. Few do![]()

personally i just like options (specially if you can hear a difference) to tweak it to your taste as there is no "perfect digital filter" but a just another set of (yea, overall subtle) compromises
for me it has a bit of different opamp vibes, which also *shouldnt be audible* but are...

good for you ... I tried and gave up..If you can hear any difference. Few do![]()
even if there are always chances to get into "placebo effects", enjoy the listening experience

???good for you ...

I cannot hear any difference... either my ears are not as good anymore or that my hearing is not educated enough to pick up on the differences + I have tinnitus
Should someone have a better hearing capability, it is good for them, don't you think?

there I have hope that there is not actually any difference to be heard and I might have hope that my hearing is not so bad!Neither can I![]()

Yes. How can I help?Dunu DTC 800, anyone have it??
Yes, using Shanling app on android phone; I can’t say nothing about filters, I’m deaf to it. I used NOS filter, I use it on psychoacoustic-purpose if possible, as according to cirrus logic spec data sheet it alters signal in a minimum possible way, without applying those fast/slow whatever filters.select digital filters on the UA1 Plus, big plus imo for tweakability

Shanling App was crashing on my side, I gave up and I am using Poweramp EQ ... unfortunately it is not a exciter of sort (there was a BBE app but it is long gone) but works very well and does not crashYes, using Shanling app on android phone; I can’t say nothing about filters, I’m deaf to it.
